Cundari Joins Heat; Howse and Martin to Utah

Abbotsford, BC - Abbotsford Heat General Manager Jay Feaster announced multiple transactions today. Recently acquired Defenceman Mark Cundari has been transfered to the Heat form the Peoria Rivermen by the Calgary Flames, while Forward Ryan Howse and Defenceman James Martin have been assigned to the Utah Grizzlies (ECHL).

Cundari was acquired yesterday from the St. Louis Blues as a part of a package moved in exchange for Defenceman Jay Bouwmeester. The 22-year-old is a two-time Memorial Cup Champion with the Windsor Spitfires (OHL) and participated in the 2013 AHL All-Star Classic in January for the Western Conference team.

Howse has played 17 games with the Heat this season and now returns to Utah who open their ECHL Kelly Cup first round playoff series with the Ontario Reign tonight. The Prince George, BC native has played 20 games this season with the Grizzlies this season recording two goals, seven assists and nine points.

Martin has played 44 games with the Grizzlies this this season recording three goals, 10 assists, 13 points and 54 penalty minutes. The second-year pro was a member of the Kootenay Ice team that participated in the 2011 Memorial Cup, and now joins the Grizzlies for their first round ECHL playoff series with the Ontario Reign.
