Cubs' Harrison Named FSL Player of the Week
July 28, 2009 - Florida State League (FSL1)
Daytona Tortugas News Release
DAYTONA BEACH - Daytona Cubs utility player Josh Harrison earned Florida State League Player of the Week honors after two great series versus the St. Lucie Mets and Palm Beach Cardinals. Harrison batted .423 (11-26) over the last week and stole seven bases.
Harrison, promoted on July 8, got off to a slow start as he was hitless in his first three games in the Florida State League. The University of Cincinnati product snapped the tough stretch with a three hit performance versus Clearwater and has not slowed down since. Harrison is currently batting .306 with Daytona and has had seven multi-hit performances in just 16 games with the D-Cubs.
Harrison and the Cubs will wrap up a quick, four-game road trip with the Sarasota Reds on Wednesday before returning home for a four-game series with the Charlotte Stone Crabs starting on Thursday.
