Crunch suffer 1-0 shootout loss to Senators

Syracuse, NY- The Syracuse Crunch suffered a 1-0 shootout loss to East Division rivals the Binghamton Senators tonight at the War Memorial Arena.

The Crunch picked up a point in the loss but their overall record drops to 24-10-2-4 overall and home record falls to 8-6-2-2. With 54 points the Crunch rank fourth in the Eastern Conference.

Binghamton center Stephane Da Costa scored the only goal of the game during a shootout and Senators netminder Robin Lehner stopped 40 shots and turned away all five Crunch shooters in the tie-breaking drill.

The Syracuse penalty kill was perfect tonight stopping three Senators man-advantages and Crunch netminder Dustin Tokarski recorded his third shutout by stopping all 27 shots faced in regulation and overtime.

The Crunch host the St. John's IceCaps on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Crunchables: Tonight's loss was the first time the Crunch have been shut out this season...JF Jacques made his season debut for the Crunch wearing number 22...The Crunch have now lost a season-high four consecutive games.
