The National Lacrosse League has announced Player of the Week awards for Week #13 of the 2013 NLL regular season which featured five games this past weekend.
Three Minnesota Swarm players won awards in their respective categories for their performances in a decisive 20-11 home win over the Philadelphia Wings that improved their position in a tightly-contested playoff race.
Swarm forward Callum Crawford, ranked fifth in the NLL with 41 assists and ninth in the league with 62 points (21+41), won his second Offensive Player of the Week award this season.
Minnesota transition player Jordan MacIntosh, fifth in the league in both loose balls (130) and faceoffs won (163), earned his third Transition Player of the Week award in 2013.
Swarm forward Kiel Matisz, tied for second among rookies with 20 goals and ranked third in rookie scoring with 44 points (20+24), won his fourth Rookie of the Week award of the year.
Rochester Knighthawks goaltender Matt Vinc, who leads the NLL in goals against average (9.98) and save percentage (.808), won Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season by helping the Knighthawks to a 12-8 divisional home win over the Toronto Rock last weekend.
Offensive Player of the Week
Callum Crawford, Minnesota Swarm (4G, 4A, 4 LB): Crawford recorded eight points (4+4) and four loose balls in Minnesota's 20-11 win vs. Philadelphia on Friday.
Transition Player of the Week
Jordan MacIntosh, Minnesota Swarm (4G, 17 LB, 1 FT): MacIntosh recorded four goals, 17 loose balls and one forced turnover in Minnesota's 20-11 win vs. Philadelphia on Friday.
Defensive Player of the Week
Matt Vinc, Rochester Knighthawks (1W, 8.02 GAA, .855 SV%, 1A): Vinc recorded 47 saves on 55 shots and one assist in 59:51 minutes played in Rochester's 12-8 win vs. Toronto on Saturday.
Rookie of the Week
Kiel Matisz, Minnesota Swarm (2G, 5A, 4 LB): Matisz recorded seven points (2+5) and four loose balls in Minnesota's 20-11 win vs. Philadelphia on Friday.
The NLL Player Awards are determined by a weekly vote of the league's general managers and head coaches.
