HICKORY, NC - The Hickory Crawdads kick started what looks to be their toughest stretch of games in week five, as the 'Dads started a streak of 25 straight games and 40 games in 40 days.
The Crawdads went to Charleston for the first time in 2013 and rode a great start by Ace C.J. Edwards for a 2-1 win in the first game before dropping the next three against the RiverDogs.

C.J EDWARDS NAMED RANGERS MiLB PITCHER OF THE MONTH
Hickory Crawdads RHP C.J. Edwards was named the Texas Rangers Minor League Pitcher of the Month for April. Edwards, 21, was 1-1 for the month with a 1.93 ERA (five earned runs over 23.1 innings pitched) and 29 strikeouts against 7 walks. The lanky right-hander held opposing South Atlantic League batters to a .176 average (15-85) over 5 starts. The South Carolina native ranked among the SAL leaders in strikeouts (3rd), opponent average (3rd), and ERA (10th) during the month.
