COYOTES ACQUIRE MCGINN & LEIGHTON FROM TAMPA BAY IN EXCHANGE FOR DOMINGUE

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Arizona Coyotes President of Hockey Operations and General Manager John Chayka announced today that the Coyotes have acquired forward Tye McGinn and goaltender Michael Leighton from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for goaltender Louis Domingue.

The 6-foot-3, 218-pound McGinn has registered 2-3-5 and 29 penalty minutes (PIM) in 11 games with the Syracuse Crunch (AHL) this season. The 27-year-old native of Fergus, Ontario has totaled 9-8-17 and 44 PIM in 89 career NHL games with the Lightning, Coyotes, San Jose Sharks and Philadelphia Flyers. McGinn was originally drafted by the Flyers in the fourth round (119th overall) in the 2010 Entry Draft.

The 6-foot-3, 186-pound Leighton has posted a 3-3-2 record with a 3.03 goals against average (GAA) and an .868 save percentage (SV%) in nine games with the Crunch this season. The 36-year-old native of Petrolia, Ontario has registered a 2.98 GAA and a .900 SV% in 110 career NHL games with the Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, Flyers and Nashville Predators. Leighton was originally drafted by the Blackhawks in the sixth round (165th overall) in the 1999 Entry Draft.
