Cox to Disabled List, Dudley returns from Disabled List

JACKSON, Tenn. - The Miami Marlins have made several transactions that impact their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's game against the Jackson Generals at The Ballpark in Jackson in Jackson, Tenn.

Infielder Zack Cox has been placed on the disabled list with a right hamstring strain. Cox is second in the Southern League in hitting with a .328 average and has five runs batted in while playing in 19 games for the Suns this season.

In a corresponding move, catcher Aaron Dudley returns to the Suns active roster from the disabled list. Dudley was placed on the disabled list on April 25 with a right hand contusion and appeared in three games during the Chattanooga series as a pinch-=C2 - â=80=90hitter, collecting three walks and a run batted in.

The Suns roster stands at 24, and a revised roster is attached.

The Suns and Generals will play the second game of their five-game series on Thursday night at 8:05 p.m. ET. Right-hander Jay Jackson (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will start for the Suns against Jackson right-hander Brett Shankin (1-0, 3.50 ERA). Fans can listen to the contest on the Suns Baseball Network, with coverage beginning with the UF & Shands Suns Pregame Show at 7:50 p.m. on WSOS-FM 94.1.

Jacksonville returns home Tuesday, May 7 for a five-game series with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, the Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.
