Countdown to Opening Night Kicks off on March 14th

SALISBURY, Md. -- The Delmarva Shorebirds, Class A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, will be spreading the excitement of the upcoming season with social media contests and tour stops throughout the Delmarva community via the Countdown to Opening Night campaign.
Fans will be able to win prizes and receive special offers on social media, so make sure to like the Shorebirds on Facebook (Delmarva Shorebirds), follow us on Twitter (@shorebirds), Instagram (@shorebirds), and Snapchat (shorebirdsmilb). There will also be information put out on social media regarding the different tour stops during the Countdown to Opening Night. Some contests on social media that will occur will be Snapchat Sunday, Twitter Tuesday, Win Stuff Wednesday, Pi Day, National Joe Day, Area Code Day (4/10), and National Pet Day, among others.

Other events in the Countdown to Opening Night include The Shorebirds and Crown Easter Fest on April 1st and Little League Appearances on April 8th.
"We are really excited about all the new and exciting things going on at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium this upcoming season. With baseball season right around the corner, we want to get out in the community and get our fans just as excited as we are. The weather is starting to warm up and it's time for the Delmarva community to start thinking about baseball again," said Shorebirds General Manager, Chris Bitters.
The Shorebirds are scheduled to play an exhibition game against Salisbury University on Tuesday, April 4th at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium at 6:05 PM. Opening Night at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium is set for Thursday, April 13th against the Hagerstown Suns at 7:05 PM after the Shorebirds begin their 2017 season on the road.

7th Inning Stretch, LLC, the same company that owns the Stockton Ports of the California League and the Everett AquaSox of the Northwest League.
The Shorebirds celebrated their 20th season in 2015, and have entertained nearly five million fans since beginning play at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium in Salisbury, Md. in 1996. The team has captured South Atlantic League titles in 1997 and 2000 while successfully hosting the South Atlantic League All-Star Game in 1999 and 2011.
