For the first time this season, the Kalamazoo Wings will lace up their skates against the Elmira Jackals. Tonight is the first of four meetings this year between the teams and the Jackals lone appearance on Vanrick Drive.
Snapping a two-game winless streak last Sunday, the K-Wings defeated the Gwinnett Gladiators 4-3 in a shootout. With 35 points, the K-Wings are in fourth place in the North Division and trail the Toledo Walleye by seven points for third.
Capping off a brief two-game midweek road trip, Elmira enters tonight fresh off a 3-1 victory last night against the Cincinnati Cyclones. With 42 points, the Jackals are tied with the Wheeling Nailers for second place in the Atlantic Division.

Meet the Team
The K-Wings will dress four new players in the lineup tonight. Since Monday, Kalamazoo has signed forwards Jon Higgins, Dwight Helminen, Scott Matzka and Jeremy Tucker.
Twice as Nice Forward Nick Sirota posted two goals in the K-Wings 4-3 shootout victory last Sunday versus Gwinnett. The multi-goal performance marks the 13th time this season that a K-Wing has scored two goals in the single game.
Stone Wall Goaltender Joel Martin, who stopped eight of nine shootout attempts last Sunday, has been tough to score on in shootouts. Martin has stopped 30 out of the 33 (90.9%) shootout attempts he has faced.
