Cougars to Debut Princess Night in 2012

GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars will host a Princess Theme Night at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark on Friday, June 8. In conjunction with this event, a Daddy/Daughter Date Night package can be ordered that includes unique opportunities for dads and daughters to enjoy an unforgettable evening at a Cougars game. Fans can order tickets for Princess Night, as well as Daddy/Daughter Date Night packages, by visiting kccougars.com or by calling (630) 232-8811.

Young princesses will enjoy the June 8 game as princess-related activities will fill that evening's 6:30 p.m. contest. Girls are asked to dress in princess attire and take part in a pre-game parade on the field. The Cougars will hold a costume contest, and all princesses can enjoy a manicure station, as well as having the opportunity to pose for photos with a princess who will be a special guest of the Cougars. The evening will close with a princess-themed fireworks show.

In conjunction with the evening, a "Daddy/Daughter Date Night" package will be available. For $24, dads and daughters each receive a reserved seat ticket, a pre-game photo opportunity on the field, a princess tiara, and can watch the princess-themed fireworks show from the field. Additional tickets for family members are $10, and additional daughters in the family are $10 as well, which includes the Daddy/Daughter events. Many popular theme nights will return this season including Halfway to Halloween, Jimmy Buffett Night, Heroes and Villains Night, Harry Potter Night and two evenings for "Bark in the Park". New this year, the Cougars will introduce a "Decades Series" that pay homage to the '60s, '70s, '80s and '90s on select dates. Back by popular demand, the Cougars will host two Star Wars Nights, one on May 4 and the second on September 1.

CUBS DIXIELAND BAND ADDED TO MIDWEST LEAGUE ALL-STAR GAME FESTIVITIES:

The Cougars have added the Cubs Dixieland Band as part of the Midwest League All-Star Game festivities. The popular group of musicians are typically seen at Wrigley Field for Cubs games, and their live music will fill the air at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark as the Cougars host the annual "mid-season classic" on Tuesday, June 19 at 6 p.m.

Additional entertainers and promotional acts slated for that evening include a National Anthem performance by Wayne Messmer, live organ music by Nancy Faust, appearances by the Zooperstars and the Jesse White Tumblers, as well as a post-game fireworks show. Both All-Star squads will take part in an extended-length autograph session preceding the game. Also in advance of the game will be a Fan Fest that begins at 11:30 that morning and will feature a variety of baseball-themed fun including music, on-field fan opportunities, autograph sessions, food and more. The Fan Fest will also include the popular "Sunday Funday" entertainment that was featured last season at the ballpark, including face painters, balloon artists and interactive displays.
