Prince George Cougars News Release

Prince George, B.C. - The Prince George Cougars have inked another forward from their 2017 WHL Bantam Draft class to a Standard WHL Player Agreement. General Manager Todd Harkins announced today that the team has signed 2002-born forward Boston Maxwell (Saskatoon, SK).

The 6'0", 177 pound forward was drafted by the Cougars in the fourth round (84^th Overall). In 30 games with the Saskatoon Stallions (SBAAHL) Maxwell scored 22 goals along with 21 assists and 96 penalty minutes. He added a goal in two playoff games. He also suited up in three games as an under-ager with the SMAAHL's Saskatoon Contacts and will join the Contacts full-time next season. Maxwell was invited to attend Saskatchewan's U-16 Summer Provincial Camp which takes place in late July in Wilcox, SK.

"Boston Maxwell is a power forward who can take over games with his physicality and goal-scoring abilities," said Cougars GM Todd Harkins. "He'll be a fan favorite because of his relentless work ethic and energy that he brings every time he takes the ice."

Harkins adds, "His style of game is going to compliment our other 2017 draftees very nicely in the years to come. He's got an incredibly bright future in this game and we're ecstatic to welcome Boston and his family to the Prince George Cougars organization."

The signing of Boston Maxwell now means that the Cougars have inked two of their first three picks from the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft. Maxwell is eligible to play in up to five games next season as an under-ager, but could join the team full-time as early as 2018-19.
