Cougars Announce 2016 Entertainment Acts, Initial Promotional Giveaways

GENEVA, Ill. - The Kane County Cougars have announced its fireworks nights and outside entertainment acts as part of the Cougars' 2016 promotional schedule. This is the second of four promotional announcements the Cougars will make in advance of single-game tickets going on sale Thursday, February 25 at 10 a.m. Fans can order tickets in person that morning from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark, by phone at (630) 232-8811, or online beginning at 10 a.m. at kccougars.com. Beginning February 25 through February 29, the Cougars are offering a special $5 discount on all box seats for 2016 regular season games (limit of 10 tickets per game).

Group outings, season tickets and ticket packages starting at five games, including a "Pick Your Own" plan, are currently on sale and can be ordered by calling (630) 232-8811. Opening Night is set for Thursday, April 7 at 6:30 p.m. against Clinton.

Promotional giveaway dates confirmed for 2016 include a Kyle Schwarber bobblehead on June 16. Schwarber, a member of the '14 Cougars squad, made his big league debut in 2015 with the Cubs and turned heads with an impressive postseason. That evening also includes a post-game fireworks show and is a Thirsty Thursday, with $1 select beers, sodas and hot dogs. Opening Day baseball caps on April 7, a team baseball card set on June 2, a bobblehead of the new-look Ozzie T. Cougar on August 11 and a Cougars travel mug on August 17 are among the most anticipated items this season. Giveaways are for the first 1,500 fans, unless otherwise noted.

The Cougars will feature a total of 27 post-game fireworks shows beginning with Memorial Day weekend (Friday, May 27 through Sunday, May 29). Each show will be choreographed to a specific musical theme celebrating artists, bands and genres such as Taylor Swift, the Eagles, Dave Matthews Band, Ghostbusters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ®, Star Wars, professional wrestling entrance themes, country music, oldies and more.

Fans will certainly enjoy a variety of special ballpark entertainers invading Fifth Third Bank Ballpark in 2016. The Zooperstars, a long-standing Cougars entertainment act, will perform on June 30 and August 26. Cougars and turtles combine as part of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ® Night on June 10 as fans can meet Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael. Birdzerk will perform his menacing, yet hilarious in-game routine on July 1. Quick Change will perform on September 4 and the Jesse White Tumblers will perform following several Saturday games: May 28, June 18, July 16 and August 13.

Additional theme nights and promotional acts for the 2016 season will be announced on kccougars.com and the Cougars' social media channels as they are confirmed. Dates and promotions are subject to change.

The Kane County Cougars, Class-A Major League affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, have been at the forefront of family-friendly entertainment since 1991. In 2015, the franchise became the first Class-A team in Minor League Baseball history to welcome 11 million fans.
