Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Brandon, Manitoba -- The former owner and governor of the Brandon Wheat Kings continues to recover in a Green Bay, Wisconsin hospital this week, the Western Hockey League club announced Thursday morning.
With family in Wisconsin at his side, Bob Cornell underwent a successful heart procedure on Wednesday and doctors expect him to make a full recovery from last week's heart attack.
Encouraged by his recovery, doctors treating Cornell have confirmed that if his condition continues to improve, he could be transferred to hospital in Manitoba as early as next week.
The 69-year old Cornell has been in St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay since last Monday, after suffering a heart attack while on his way home from a National Football League game between the Green Bay Packers and the San Diego Chargers. He was driving a car that was carrying three passengers at the time.
