Copperheads turn focus to the Gators

March 22, 2006 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Texas Copperheads News Release

Katy, Texas (March 22, 2006) - The Katy Copperheads of the National Indoor Football League remain atop the Pacific South Division after their non-divisional loss to the River City Rage 69-33. The Copperheads fell to 1-1 on the season which ties them with the Beaumont Drillers in the South Division.

The Drillers fell to the Copperheads in week one before winning their home opener by a score of 55-49 against the Arkansas Stars.

However, the Copperheads now turn their focus to the 0-1 Twin City Gators another first year team. The Gators lost 33 - 24 to the Tennessee Riversharks on March 11, 2006 at Camp Jordan Arena in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Katy Head Coach Bryan Blake said, "I expect our offense to get on track and rebound against the Gators. If we stay with the game plan and cut out mistakes we should return to Katy with a 2-1 record.

The Copperheads expect a turnaround in the passing attack to match the tough running of former Pittsburg Steeler Bam Morris. "Offense has been our focus all week. We have to score more points, 33 will not win many indoor football games." Coach Blake.
