Condors Sleep Through Wranglers' 5-1 Midnight Win

Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - The late-night puck drop paid off for the Las Vegas Wranglers tonight as the team dominated the Bakersfield Condors, winning 5-1 in the first of the season's two Midnight Games.
A scoreless first period loomed between the teams until a power play opportunity gave Wranglers center Chris Francis the chance to score, putting the team on the board with the 1-0 lead. Las Vegas carried that momentum into the second, with newly acquired Wranglers forward Scott Pitt recording his first goal with the team just 2:07 into the period. A goal from right wing Sean Wiles put the Condors in a 3-0 hole, and to wrap up the period, Pitt tallied two more goals in a span of just over three minutes for a hat trick and a 5-0 lead.
Wranglers goaltender Mark Owuya, appearing in his first game as well after being loaned from the Toronto Maple Leafs, kept Bakersfield scoreless for 48:32 minutes in his debut until Condors forward Tyler Brenner prevented the shutout. Unable to nab four more goals, the Wranglers secured the 5-1 win to improve to 6-3-2 in midnight games since 2003.
The Wranglers are on the road for their next five games, and return home on Sunday, Dec. 30, to take on the Idaho Steelheads at 2:05 p.m. Fans will be able to skate with the team after the game for free, with limited ice skates available for use, and the first 1,000 kids age 12 and under through the doors will receive a stuffed doll of the team mascot, The Duke. Tonight's full box score can be found here .
Celebrating 10 seasons of Wranglers hockey this year, group events are available at all home games, including pre-game ice skating parties, private luxury suites, and rink-side catered party boxes. Groups of ten or more can sit together starting at $13 per ticket, and feature perks such as in-game group recognition and "buy one, get one free" Chuck-A-Puck vouchers. Take advantage of the best deals by calling the Wranglers front office at (702) 471-PUCK . The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at Orleans Arena, located next to the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Ave.
