Comets Trade Deal

January 7, 2003 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2) - Kansas City Comets News Release

KANSAS CITY, MO -- The Kansas City Comets announced today they assigned the playing rights of goalkeeper Chris Damico to the Harrisburg Heat to complete a previous transaction in which Harrisburg assigned the playing rights of goalkeeper Paolo Ceccarelli to the Kansas City Comets.

Harrisburg, in exchange, has announced they reached a two-year agreement with Damico.

Damico, a nine-year league veteran, will take the place of former Heat goalkeeper Doug Petras, who retired Jan. 1 to enter the State Police Training Program.

Damico played last season with the Comets, after being acquired in the dispersal draft from Wichita over the previous summer. In 35 games for Kansas City, he saw 1995:58 of time, and stopped 519 of 742 shots faced. He finished the 2001-02 season with a 20-14 record, and a 13.86 PAA. Overall, he has seen action in 239 career games, stopped 3314 shots, and has compiled a 98-119 record.

Damico is expected to report to the Heat within the week.
