Comets Sign Bancks and Hamilton to Two-Year Deals

Utica Comets Director of Hockey Operations Pat Conacher announced today that the club has signed forwards Carter Bancks and Wacey Hamilton to two-year American Hockey League contracts.
Bancks, 26, enjoyed a career year during the 2015-16 season and set new personal bests in goals (14), assists (25), and points (39) while playing in all 76 games for the Comets. The Marysville, BC native has collected 105 points (35-70-105), 269 penalty minutes, and a +34 rating in 357 career AHL games with the Comets and Abbotsford Heat.
Undrafted, Bancks played two games with the NHL's Calgary Flames during the 2012-13 season.
Hamilton, 25, posted career highs in goals (8) and penalty minutes (61) while he appeared in 53 games and posted his second consecutive 15-point season for the Comets. During the 2014-15 season, he recorded five goals and 10 assists along with 27 penalty minutes in 41 regular season games. In the 2015 Calder Cup playoffs he posted four points (2-2-4) and 25 penalty minutes in 22 games. In 269 career AHL games between Utica and Binghamton, the Cochrane, Alberta native has 69 points (26-43-69) and 245 penalty minutes.
