Columbus Recalls Alexandre Picard

Syracuse, NY (April 13, 2009) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled left wing Alexandre Picard.

Picard, 23, appeared in 49 games for the Crunch this season, tallying a career-high 22 goals, 10 assists and 107 penalty minutes. He tied for the team lead in goals and was named the club's co-MVP along with Derek MacKenzie. Picard also appeared in 15 games with Columbus this season, notching one assist and 26 penalty minutes.

A native of Les Saules, Quebec, Picard was drafted by Columbus in the first round, eighth overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
