Columbus Crew SC Continues Three-Match Road Swing by Facing FC Dallas Tomorrow

April 1, 2016 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Columbus Crew SC News Release

COLUMBUS - Columbus Crew SC (0-2-1, 1 point) travels to Frisco, Texas to face FC Dallas (3-1-0, 9 points) tomorrow, April 2. The contest kicks off at 9:00 p.m. ET and is set to be televised regionally on The CW Columbus, Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and BCSN2, with Neil Sika and Dwight Burgess on the call. Coverage on The CW Columbus begins at 9:00 p.m. ET. Exclusively on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and BCSN2, "Crew SC Matchday," the pre-match show hosted by Chris Doran, begins at 8:30 p.m. ET, with "Crew SC Post-Match" immediately following the action. Tomorrow's match also airs locally on the radio on CD102.5 FM in English, featuring simulcast audio from the television broadcast. La Mega 103.1 FM has the match airing in Spanish, with Juan Valladares behind the microphone. The club's official website, ColumbusCrewSC.com, is set to stream the English-language radio broadcast online.

Saturday's match is the fourth 2016 Major League Soccer regular-season contest for the Black & Gold as well as their third of the year on the road. This match continues a three-match road swing for Crew SC, which concludes the stretch with a contest at Montreal on April 9. This is set to be the 45th all-time regular-season meeting between these two MLS originals, with Crew SC holding a 18-17-9 edge in the lifetime series.

This is Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter's first-ever trip to Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas as the Black & Gold boss. He made two appearances at FC Dallas as a player, both with the LA Galaxy, in 2009 and 2010, respectively. Crew SC is 3-4-1 all-time at Toyota Stadium, winning its last match in Frisco by a 4-2 score on September 29, 2013.

Over the FIFA international window last weekend, five members of Columbus Crew SC appeared in various National Team matches. Ethan Finlay and Rodrigo Saravia went head-to-head for a pair of contests as the United States and Guatemala played two qualification matches for the FIFA World Cup, including a tilt at MAPFRE Stadium on March 29. That clash saw both Saravia and Finlay make appearances, becoming the fourth and fifth players, respectively, to appear in an international match at MAPFRE Stadium while a member of Crew SC's active roster.

Additionally, Harrison Afful registered his 59th and 60th caps for Ghana as part of Africa Cup of Nations qualification, while Tony Tchani made a cap-tying appearance for Cameroon. After appearing for the United States in a friendly match in January, Tchani was eligible for a one-time switch and joined Crew SC's all-time leading goal scorer, Jeff Cunningham (who played for Jamaica and the United States), as the only two players to make senior National Team appearances for two different countries while an active roster member of the Black & Gold. Meanwhile, Wil Trapp captained the United States Under-23 side for two matches in an inter-confederation playoff against Colombia.
