Avalanche Reassign Defensemen Chris Bigras and Andrei Mironov to Rampage, While San Antonio Reassigns Defenseman Gabriel Verpaelst to Colorado Eagles
SAN ANTONIO - The Colorado Avalanche today announced that defenseman Duncan Siemens has been recalled from the San Antonio Rampage. Additionally, the Avalanche have reassigned defensemen Chris Bigras and Andrei Mironov to the Rampage, while San Antonio has reassigned defenseman Gabriel Verpaelst to the Colorado Eagles (ECHL).
Siemens' call-up to the NHL serves as Colorado's ninth recall from San Antonio this season. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound defenseman has registered three points (1g/2a) in 20 games with the Rampage this season. Siemens was originally drafted by the Avalanche in the first round of the 2011 NHL Draft (11th overall) and has appeared in four career contests with the club. He will join former Rampage players Gabriel Bourque, Vladislav Kamenev, Dominic Toninato, J.T. Compher, Anton Lindholm, Nikita Zadorov, and Mikko Rantanen in Colorado.
Bigras began the season with the Avalanche, recording one assist in 15 games. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound defenseman spent the 2016-17 campaign with the Rampage, recording 19 points (5g/14a) in 45 contests.
Mironov has tallied three points (1g/2a) in nine appearances with the Avalanche this season. He made his NHL debut on Oct. 5 at the New York Rangers. The 6-foot-3, 194-pound defenseman also played in three games with the Rampage this season, recording two assists.
Verpaelst, appeared in one contest with the Rampage during his call-up. He opened the season with the Eagles, recording six points (3g/3a) in 17 games with the club.
The Silver and Black return to the Alamo City when they take on the Iowa Wild on Friday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the AT&T Center.
