Colombia and Honduras to Play International Friendly at Red Bull Arena / Colombia

HARRISON, NJ (August 15, 2011) - The New York Red Bulls announced today that Red Bull Arena will host an international friendly between the national teams of Colombia and Honduras on Saturday, September 3 at 8:00 PM ET.
Colombia is coming off an impressive showing at the 2011 Copa America, where it finished atop Group A, in front of Argentina. The team, led by Hernan Dario "El Bolillo" Gomez, was eliminated from the Copa America in the quarterfinals by Peru, falling 2-0.
Honduras recently reached the semifinals of the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup. They fell in the semifinals, 2-0, to eventual tournament champion Mexico. Coach Luis Fernando Suarez leads the side, who most recently defeated Venezuela, 2-0, in an international friendly on August 10 in Miami, FL.
The teams have met 13 times in the past, with Honduras earning six victories and Colombia winning three times with four matches ending in a draw.
Red Bulls Plan Holders will have the first opportunity to purchase tickets for this event during an internet presale on Tuesday, August 16 beginning at 10:00 AM ET. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, August 17 at 10:00 AM ET and can be purchased at www.newyorkredbulls.com/tickets, by calling 1.877.RBSOCCER or at the Red Bull Arena Box Office (box office hours are 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM).
