Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Kansas City Royals announced a transaction that affects their Triple-A affiliate Omaha Storm Chasers roster prior to tonight's matchup against the Round Rock Express at Dell Diamond.

Infielder Cody Decker has been acquired by the Colorado Rockies organization via trade in exchange for cash considerations. Over seven games with the Storm Chasers, the 29-year-old accumulated a .278 average (5-18), adding four runs, one double, three homers and five RBI.

The California native crushed two of those longballs on April 9 against the New Orleans Zephyrs as part of a three-hit effort. Decker was signed by the Royals as a minor league free agent this past offseason and owns a .265 batting average (686-2584) with 157 roundtrippers and 509 RBI in 768 minor league contests. He was originally selected by the San Diego Padres in the 22nd round of the 2009 MLB Draft out of UCLA, and made his Major League debut with the Padres on September 14, 2015.

Omaha's roster now stands at 24 active players, in addition to four on the Disabled List, and a revised roster has been attached.

Following their sixth victory in seven contests last night, the American Northern Division-leading Storm Chasers are slated continue their four-game road set with the Round Rock Express this evening at 7:05 p.m. CT. The reigning Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week Jonathan Dziedzic (1-1, 0.00) is expected to get the nod for Omaha, while Round Rock is anticipated to send LHP Cesar Ramos (0-1, 4.91) to the hill.

The Storm Chasers return to Werner Park on Saturday, April 23 to begin an eight-game homestand featuring the Colorado Sky Sox and Oklahoma City Dodgers. First pitch for the series opening on Saturday evening is set for 7:05 p.m.

Tickets for that contest and all remaining Storm Chasers games are still available and can be purchased online at www.omahastormchasers.com/tickets, or by calling the Werner Park Ticket Office at (402) 738-5100.
