City Announces First Event at SRP Park

NORTH AUGUSTA, SC: The City of North Augusta in partnership with the Augusta GreenJackets are excited to announce that the first event at SRP Park will be the North Augusta High School Yellow Jackets hosting the Greenbrier High School Wolfpack on Monday, April 9th at 7:05PM with gates opening at 6:00PM. The pre-game ceremony and dedication will begin at 6:30PM.

"Because our citizens made this possible, we felt like having our high school play the first game was the perfect opening", said Mayor Bob Pettit. "This general admission event provides more people in our community the opportunity to experience the new ball park."

In addition to the baseball team, the North Augusta High School band and chorus will take part in the opening ceremonies.

The High School Showcase will be the first event held at the state-of-the-art SRP Park. Fans are encouraged to come out and support two local high schools and experience SRP Park for the first time. The GreenJackets will be hosting the first College Baseball Georgia vs. Clemson game the next day, Tuesday, April 10th. The GreenJackets will then kick off their Inaugural Season at SRP Park on that Thursday, April 12th at 7:35PM.

Tickets for the high school showcase will go on-sale Monday, March 26th at 10am via phone (706) 736-7889, in-person at Lake Olmstead Stadium (78 Milledge Road, Augusta, GA) or by visiting www.greenjacketsbaseball.com (service charge will apply). Tickets will also be available at the ticket window at 6pm on game day.

"We are excited to partner with the City of North Augusta to host the Yellow Jackets for our first official event at SRP Park," stated GreenJackets Vice President Tom Denlinger. "We invite the community to come out and experience SRP Park, enjoy the new amenities, and help support North Augusta High School."

The net proceeds from the ticket sales for the High School Showcase will go to the North Augusta Yellow Jacket Club to support the school's athletic programs.
