Cincinnati Cyclones Announce Training Camp Schedule

October 1, 2009 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators, announced their training camp schedule this afternoon.

The Cyclones will open up training camp on Friday (October 2) and Saturday (October 3) with sessions at U.S. Bank Arena. These initial sessions are not open to the public. Monday, October 5 and Tuesday, October 6, practice shifts to the club's new practice home-the Northlands Ice Center (10400 Reading Rd.-in Evendale) with 10:30am start times. These two sessions will be the only ones open to the public during training camp. There will be closed sessions again at U.S. Bank Arena on October 7 & 8.

The Cyclones begin their training camp with 14 forwards, nine defensemen and one goaltender on the ice. Other players will be added in the days ahead as they are released from their American Hockey League (AHL) obligations. Cincinnati currently has 24 players under contract and another on an ECHL tryout agreement. The club will also expand its roster as AHL affiliates in Hamilton and Milwaukee send players to the Queen City.

Fans will have their first up close look at the team during the Cyclones Open House on Thursday, October 8 from 6pm-7:30. The public is invited to meet the team, collect autographs, tour U.S. Bank Arena, check out discounted ticket plans and seats for the upcoming campaign and participate in a skating session (bring your skates). Persons who have previously purchased season tickets can pick them up at this event.

The lone home preseason game is the next night (Friday, October 9), as the Toledo Walleye battle the Cyclones at 7:30pm. Tickets for this game are priced at just $5. The game will be carried on the B2 Network-however, it will be a single camera feed of the video. The audio broadcast of the game will begin at 7:15pm with John Hamel calling the action for the fourth straight season. The preseason closes the next night (Saturday, October 10) with a 7:30pm tilt at Toledo (Tam-O-Shanter Arena). There will be no broadcast of the game.

The regular season begins on the road with a Friday, October 16 clash at Elmira. That game will be carried on 1530-AM The Sports Animal with a 7:30pm faceoff. The next night (Saturday, October 17), the club heads to Johnstown for a 7:30pm tilt that will be carried on the club's website: www.cycloneshockey.com.

Tickets for the 2009-10 Cincinnati Cyclones season are now on sale. The Cyclones Sales Department can be reached at 513-421-PUCK, extension 3. The Cyclones host their home opener at U.S. Bank Arena against Wheeling on Saturday, October 24 at 7:30pm. There will be a special divisional championship banner raising ceremony prior to that game.
