Chivas USA's Red Card Appeal Upheld
March 19, 2013 - Major League Soccer (MLS) News Release
NEW YORK (March 19, 2013) - An independent review panel has rescinded the fine and one-game suspension for a red card issued to Chivas USA defender JoaquĆ-n Velasquez in the 40th minute of Sunday's game against the LA Galaxy. Velasquez will be eligible for Chivas USA's game this Sunday against the Chicago Fire.
The independent review panel consists of one representative from each of the following entities: U.S. Soccer Federation, Canadian Soccer Association, and Professional Referees Organization (PRO).
