Chill Defenseman Weiss Named CHL Player of the Week

St. Charles, MO - The Central Hockey League announced Monday St. Charles Chill defenseman Dan Weiss has been named the Oakley CHL Player of the week for the period ending December 15, 2013. In recognition of his achievement, Weiss will receive a special gift from Oakley.

Weiss, a native of Ballwin, Missouri, had goals in three of the Chill's four games including the game-winning goal in St. Charles' 3-1 win over Denver on Wednesday night. He also scored in Rapid City and had the Chill's lone goal at home against the Wichita Thunder on Saturday night.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound defenseman has been with the Chill for just under one month and has played in a total of 12 games. He has seven points on four goals and three assists in those 12 games and has a plus/minus rating of +3.

Prior to playing with the Chill, Weiss spent the previous four seasons in the NCAA at Niagara University. He also played three seasons of junior hockey including a stint with the St. Louis Bandits in 2008-09.
