Chihuahuas Win Game 3 to Keep Their Season Alive

The El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Fresno Grizzlies 6-4 Friday night in front of a frenzied sellout crowd to keep their 2015 season alive. The Chihuahuas forced a Game 4, to be played Saturday night, with Fresno leading the best-of-five series two games to one.

El Paso trailed 4-0 entering the bottom of the fifth when the club sent 12 batters to the plate, scoring six times to push ahead. The tying and go-ahead runs both came on a two-run double by Jake Goebbert. Later in the inning, Cody Decker was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring home El Paso's final run. Fresno used four different pitchers during the Chihuahuas' fifth-inning rally.

Chihuahuas' starter Robbie Erlin allowed three earned runs in six innings in the win. Fresno put two runners on base with no outs in the eighth before Jay Jackson got a strikeout and a double play to keep El Paso in front. Casey McElroy and Jason Hagerty had two hits each for El Paso.
