El Paso Chihuahuas News Release

The El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Fresno Grizzlies 4-3 Sunday afternoon at Chukchansi Park, their second one-run win of the series. The Chihuahuas completed their eight-game road trip with a 5-3 record.

Casey McElroy's two-run single in the bottom of the second gave the Chihuahuas a two-run lead. After Fresno scored three runs over the next few innings, Ryan Schimpf stepped in for El Paso with two on and two out in the top of the fifth and hit a two-run double off the glove of diving left fielder Jon Kemmer to give the Chihuahuas the 4-3 lead.

Fresno put runners at second and third in the bottom of the eighth but El Paso reliever Jose Dominguez struck out 2015 PCL MVP Matt Duffy to end the threat. Dominguez then struck out the side in the bottom of the ninth inning to notch his first save of the season.

Alex Dickerson singled in the fifth inning to extend his hitting streak to 13 games, a Chihuahuas' team record.
