The El Paso Chihuahuas left the tying run at third base in the last inning and almost pulled off an impressive comeback in Salt Lake's 6-5 Game 2 win.
The Chihuahuas trailed 6-0 in the sixth inning when Carlos Asuaje, Alex Dickerson and Hunter Renfroe hit back-to-back-to-back home runs on three consecutive pitches to make the score 6-4. It was the first time the Chihuahuas have hit three home runs in a row in team history.
Down 6-4 in the top of the seventh in the seven-inning game, Jason Hagerty hit a pinch-hit RBI triple to put the tying run at third base with one out. Manuel Margot then lined out to third and Asuaje popped out to third to end the game.
El Paso starter Jeremy Guthrie allowed six runs in five innings of work in the loss.
