Salt Lake Bees News Release

SALT LAKE CITY (April 25, 2016) - The Salt Lake Bees fell to the El Paso Chihuahuas 8-3 Monday evening behind the bats of James Loney and Ryan Schimpf. The Chihuahuas got to the Salt Lake starter, Zach Nuding (1-3, 7.10 ERA), collecting nine hits and six earned runs in 4.2 innings. El Paso recorded six hits in the 5th inning alone, the most allowed by Salt Lake pitching in an inning this season. Cody Satterwhite retired all four Chihuahuas he faced and has yet to give up an earned run this season in 8 1/3 innings. Cam Bedrosian followed, striking out four in two innings, but allowed two earned runs.

"Sometimes the ball roles your way and sometimes it doesn't," said Bees Manager Keith Johnson. "I thought Zach (Nuding) did a great job for those first four innings and if one of those balls is hit right at somebody it's a totally different ballgame."

Offensively, Nick Buss (3-for-4, 2 RBI) and Shane Robinson (3-for-4. 2 Runs) set the tone. Buss has recorded one or more hit in 14 of the 18 games this season. The Bees recorded 12 hits tonight, while four of the nine offensive starters had multi-hit games. Kyle Kubitza, the 2015 PCL leader in doubles, recorded his first one of the season on his way to a 2-for-4 performance.

Salt Lake will finish the four-game-series against El Paso tomorrow night at 6:35 PM and will be followed by a four-game set against the Sacramento River Cats. All Bees games home or away can be heard on 1280 The Zone with Steve Klauke calling the action.
