Johnstown Chiefs News Release

Trenton, Nj. - The Johnstown Chiefs dropped their second consecutive game at Sovereign Bank Arena, losing to the Trenton Devils by a score of 2-1 on Friday night.

For the fourth game in a row the Chiefs gave up the first goal of the game with Trenton's Matt Radoslovich beating Kris Mayotte at 7:54 of the opening frame. Jeff Prough carried down the left wing on a 4-on-3 rush for Trenton and generated a rebound with a shot that Mayotte couldn't handle cleanly. Trailing the play, Radoslovich punched the rebound in for his third goal of the season.

Trenton was awarded a two-man advantage in the second period that would have lasted 1:52, but it didn't take that long to convert. Matt Cohen was fed in the high slot and he found the net behind Mayotte at 4:17 of the period to make it 2-0 in favor of the Devils. The Chiefs finally found a way to beat Charlie Effinger, though, Mike Bartlett used a screen from Wes Clark to wrist a shot in for his fourth goal of the season. Alex Penner added an assist on the goal, and gave him three out of his four points for Johnstown against Trenton.

Johnstown peppered Effinger with 11 shots in the third period, but were unable to find a way to beat the Devils netminder and pull even in the game.

Mayotte made 37 saves in taking the loss, while the Chiefs were 0-for-2 with the man advantage.
