Chiefs to Use Pride Tape During Warm-Ups on Saturday Night
February 15, 2018 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Spokane Chiefs News Release
The Spokane Chiefs will use Pride Tape on their sticks during warm-ups of their game versus the Tri-City Americans on Saturday, February 17 in support of the NHL's Hockey Is For Everyone™ campaign.
"For me personally, with my family background, having two moms, it kind of meant a lot to me and it meant a lot to my moms as well," said Chiefs forward Jaret Anderson-Dolan. "The situation I'm in, I feel like I can really make an impact if I keep doing what I'm doing and getting the voice out there." [related_links]
This will mark the second season the Chiefs have skated warm-ups for a game using the rainbow-colored tape. Last season, on January 10, 2017 versus Kelowna, Anderson-Dolan planned to use the tape on his own. Teammates noticed in the dressing room and asked if they could join in.
"(Last year) I think (Jaret) started taping it right before the game," added linemate Kailer Yamamoto. "Everyone saw it and after that everyone wanted to do it... We're family in that locker room."
