Davenport, IA - The Peoria Chiefs allowed three more home runs and lost the series and road trip finale to the Quad Cities River Bandits 6-1 Wednesday night. The Chiefs went 2-5 on the trip and are now 8-11 on the season heading into a four-game homestand against Cedar Rapids.

The Chiefs left a runner at third base in the top of the first against Carson LaRue. Quad Cities took the lead in the bottom of the inning as leadoff man Ronnie Dawson crushed a Ronnie Williams offering over the right-center field wall for a solo home run.

Peoria left runners on base in each of the next three innings and Quad Cities added on in the fourth. Stephen Wrenn led off with a single and Randy Cesar launched a two-run homer to left that bounced past the Ferris Wheel behind the berm for a 3-0 lead.

The Chiefs left a runner in scoring position in the fifth and left two on in the sixth as Quad Cities changed pitchers. The Bandits knocked Williams from the game in the bottom of the sixth. Spencer Johnson led off with a single and moved to second on a wild pitch. With two outs Williams walked Daz Cameron and gave way to Mike O'Reilly. Number nine hitter Rodrigo Ayarza greeted O'Reilly with a two-run double down the right-field line for a 5-0 Bandits lead.

The Chiefs finally got on the board in the seventh with a two-out rally against Abdiel Saldana. Shane Billings singled to right and moved to third on a single by Andrew Knizner. Tommy Edman drove home Billings with a single but Brian O'Keefe popped out in foul territory to end the inning.

Quad Cities answered that run in the bottom of the inning against O'Reilly. Jake Rogers hit his second homer of the series and fourth of the season for a 6-1 lead. The Chiefs loaded the bases in the ninth to put the tying run in the on deck circle but didn't score as they left the last of their 13 runners on base.
