Peoria, IL - The Peoria Chiefs lost their fourth game in a row and were shut out 5-0 by the Cedar Rapids Kernels on Tuesday Night at Dozer Park. The Chiefs fell to 5-6 with their fourth straight loss and will wrap up the series with Cedar Rapids at 11:00 AM on Wednesday.
Bryan Dobzanski held the Kernels scoreless until the top of the sixth inning when Jermaine Palacios and Jaylin Davis both walked. Mitchell Kranson doubled on a fly ball to left field that scored both runners and made it a 2-0 game.
Brady Bowen put Travis Blankenhorn on with a hit by pitch in the eighth inning. Blankenhorn advanced to second base on a wild pitch, and scored when Davis singled to shallow right field to make the score 3-0.
Cedar Rapids put the game out of reach in the ninth. Palacios singled to right with two outs and scored when Blankenhorn doubled to right. Blankenhorn scored when Lewin Diaz singled through the middle to give the Kernels a 5-0 lead.
Dobzanski (0-1) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks over seven innings of work for the Chiefs. Bowen threw one inning in relief, allowing a run on two hits with two strikeouts. Ramon Santos threw one inning and allowed two runs with four hits and two strikeouts.
