CHICAGO, IL - At the conclusion of the 2006 MISL Dispersal Draft, the Chicago Storm found itself with the rights to four proven MISL players and a local 2006 draft pick. The Storm added target man Elvir Kafedzic with the seventh overall pick and midfielder Mariano Bollella with the fourth pick in the second round. Chicago went on to add defender Mali Walton in the third round, Geneva Illinois resident, Jimmy Klatter in the fourth and midfielder Sterling Wescott in the fifth round.

The Storm's head coach, Steve Morris was pleased with the results of the draft. "I'm very excited that we added some additional talent to the team. Elvir Kafedzic is someone who has great potential, youth and enthusiasm. I've already spoken with him and he's excited to come to Chicago and establish himself as a major piece up front for this team." Morris continued, "With the addition of Mariano Bollella, Mali Walton and Sterling Wescott we get proven veterans who will add a wealth of experience and knowledge of the indoor game. Last but not least is forward Jimmy Klatter. He's a local product from Geneva, Illinois who played his college soccer at Eastern Illinois University and he's been with the Fire Reserves. I'm excited to see what he brings to the table."

Elvir Kafedzic, a 23 year old Bosnian native, spent one season with the Steamers scoring eight goals and one assist in 21 games, three of those goals being game winners. Kafedzic was named the MISL Offensive Player of the Week for December 5, 2005.

In the third round Chicago selected defender Mali Walton. The nine year professional soccer veteran is a native of Flint, Michigan. Walton spent three years with St. Louis leading the Steamers in blocks in two seasons.
