Chicago Mustangs Lose to Milwaukee for First Time this Season, 7-9

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL - The Chicago Mustangs, proud members of the Major Arena Soccer League (www.MASLSoccer.com), lose to the Milwaukee Wave 7-9 on February 21st. The Mustangs beat Milwaukee two times earlier this season.

The first quarter of the game starts with some good defense by the Chicago Mustangs. At 4:09, Milwaukee puts the ball in the net, 0-1. Two and half minutes later, Milwaukee scores another goal with a shot off a rebound, 0-2. At 8:50, Chicago responds with Taylor Bond on the attack dribbling the field and nailing a right-footed shot, 1-2. The Mustangs continue the quarter with majority of possession and a shot by Taylor Bond. The quarter ends with Milwaukee in the lead, 1-2.

The Milwaukee Wave start the second quarter scoring a goal 12 seconds in, giving them a two point lead, 1-3. The Mustangs display strong defense with several shots by Alexis Camarena, Efrain "Wilo" Martinez, Mario Alvarez and Trajche "Loki" Lostovski. At 12:24, Milwaukee gets a ball past Chicago goalkeeper Jesus Flores, 1-4. At 14:19, Chicago Mustangs Taylor Bond scores his second goal of the game by taking the ball down the field again, this time knocking it off the wall to get behind the keeper and tapping the ball in. The quarter ends with the Mustangs down, 2-4.

The third quarter begins with Milwaukee scoring on a power play, 2-5. At 2:45, Chicago responds with a goal by Osvaldo Rojas Rivera, assisted by Trajche "Loki" Lostovski, 3-5. At 3:36, Milwaukee scores off a free kick, 3-6. Chicago responds quickly again at 3:58 with a goal by Ricardo Carvalho, assisted by Efrain "Wilo" Martinez, 4-6. On the other end, Milwaukee #77 Leite scores his third goal to keep the Wave up by three, 4-7. At 4:33, Milwaukee puts the ball in the net again, this time on the shootout, 4-8. At 7:18, Milwaukee gets another ball past Mustangs goalkeeper Jesus Flores, 4-9. Chicago Mustangs Efrain "Wilo" Martinez gets a hold of the ball in the attacking third but his shot is stopped by the goalkeeper. With seven goals scored, the third quarter ends with Milwaukee up, 4-9.

Chicago's Ricardo Carvalho scores the first goal of the fourth quarter, his second of the game, at 3:58 bringing the game to 5-9. Mustangs Miguel Vaca takes a great left-footed shot but the Milwaukee goalkeeper is able to get his foot on the ball. Another Chicago attempt, this time by Efrain "Wilo" Martinez, goes off the boards. After blue cards given to both Chicago and Milwaukee, and a red card to Chicago, Chicago Mustangs Miguel Vaca takes the restart and strikes the ball into the net, 6-9. At 13:55, Chicago Mustangs Alexis Camarena, assisted by Efrain "Wilo" Martinez, scores his first goal of the game, bringing the final score to 7-9.
