The Manitoba Moose (10-5-1-1) and Chicago Wolves (4-9-1-0) went head-to-head on Law Enforcement Appreciation Night at Bell MTS Place on Friday. The contest got off to a quick start when Julian Melchiori fired a shot from the point to the back of the net just 65 seconds after puck drop. The Moose added to their lead at 8:42 on a power play marker from Sami Niku who was allowed to walk in and fire a wrister past Kasimir Kaskisuo in the Chicago net. The Wolves clawed their way back into the contest with a power play goal of their own, courtesy of a one-timer from Brandon Pirri at 12:39. The visitors tied the game three minutes later when Brett Sterling was able to force a loose puck over the goal line. Manitoba grabbed the lead back with a power play marker from Buddy Robinson as the big forward redirected a Cameron Schilling shot into the Chicago net for a 3-2 Moose lead after 20 minutes.
Chicago got even again 8:33 into the second on Stefan Matteau's third goal in two games against the Moose. Manitoba regained the lead when Peter Stoykewych put a perfect saucer pass onto the tape of Jack Roslovic who wired a shot to the top shelf 12:58 into the period. The one goal lead held as the Moose carried a 4-3 advantage into the third.
Midway through the final frame, the Wolves power play came through to tie the game as Jason Garrison unloaded a slap shot to drive the puck past a screened Eric Comrie at 10:26. It only took 11 seconds for Roslovic to respond. The Moose forward skated onto a loose puck in the Chicago zone, undressed a Wolves defender and showed great touch to sneak the puck past Kaskisuo and give the Manitoba the lead back. Fighting to hold their one-goal edge, the Moose gave themselves some breathing room with just under two minutes left when Chase De Leo potted an empty net tally. The Wolves continued to press and Eric Comrie was forced to come up with a spectacular diving glove save to keep it a two-goal lead with 54 seconds left. That would be as close as Chicago came with the Moose capturing the 6-4 victory.

Forward Jack Roslovic - "You never know when you're going to have games like that. It's obviously really nice to have a game like that and get the win. We never thought we were going to lose that game, even though we started up 2-0, and then had a little scrum trying to protect some of our players and ended up on the bad side of it and they got an opportunity... we just had to keep grinding back."
