CFL names players of the week

Toronto, ON - (September 10, 2008) - Michael Bishop, Cam Wake, Jason Clermont, and Larry Taylor were named the CFL's top players for week #11, the Canadian Football League announced today.
Players of the Week are selected for on-field excellence by members of the Canadian football broadcasters.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
QB - Michael Bishop - Saskatchewan Roughriders
Saskatchewan Roughriders 34 - Winnipeg Blue Bombers 31
Highlights / Key Stats:
Michael Bishop led the Saskatchewan Roughriders to a 17 point comeback victory on the road against the arch-rival Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Bishop completed 24 of 30 passes on the day for 370 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. He also rushed nine times for 56 yards. In the deciding fourth quarter Bishop was 11 of 12 for 196 yards and two touchdowns while rushing five times for an additional 23 yards. Bishop's 370 yards and three touchdowns led the CFL in Week 11.
In two games with Saskatchewan Michael Bishop has completed 34 of 53 passes for 477 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. He has a passer efficiency rating of 104.3. Bishop has added 107 rushing yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DE - Cam Wake - B.C. Lions
B.C. Lions 35 @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats 12
Highlights / Key Stats:
Cam Wake had seven tackles including four sacks and a forced fumble in the B.C. Lions decisive victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Ivor Wynne. Wake got to QB Casey Printers four times, three for sacks and once after Printers scrambled for only a one yard gain. Wake also tackled running back Terry Caulley twice and sacked Quinton Porter once. Wake disrupted the passing attack all game long and the Ticats threw for less than 200 yards with no touchdowns and an interception.
Cam Wake has 38 tackles this season with a league leading 13 sacks and two forced fumbles. His 13 sacks almost double the second place total of seven.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KR/PR - Larry Taylor - Montreal Alouettes

Highlights / Key Stats:
Larry Taylor had a CFL high 137 punt return yards in the Alouettes victory over the visiting Toronto Argonauts. Taylor returned a Mike Vanderjagt punt 69 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter that sealed the victory.
Larry Taylor has 380 punt return yards and a touchdown on the season as well as 267 kick return yards and 108 missed field goal yards. He has 757 combined yards this season placing him in the top 20 league wide despite only playing in only six games.

Highlights / Key Stats:
Jason Clermont had eight catches for a team high 132 yards in the B.C. Lions road victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The eight catches and 132 yards were both season highs for Clermont.
Jason Clermont has 42 catches for 559 yards and three touchdowns this season.
