CF Adam Engel Named Arizona Fall League MVP

Scottsdale, Arizona - Glendale Desert Dogs center fielder Adam Engel (White Sox) is the recipient of the Arizona Fall League's 2015 Joe Black MVP Award.
Engel, the Arizona Fall League's top offensive catalyst, also won the EyePromise EDGE PRO Batting Title Award after finishing the six-week season with a .403 average.
Chicago's 19th-round (573rd overall) draft choice out of the University of Louisville in 2013, the 23-year-old Engel ranked among league leaders in most offensive categories - first in batting (.403), on-base percentage (.523) and slugging percentage (.642), second in doubles (9) and stolen bases (10), third in hits (27-tie) and runs scored (16-tie), and fourth in extra-base hits (12-tie) and walks (16).
MLB.com's No. 17 White Sox prospect registered two hits, drew two walks, scored twice and collected an RBI as the West Division's starting center fielder in the November 7 Fall Stars Game. He also was the AFL's week five player of the week.
The speedy 6-1, 215-pound outfielder spent the 2015 season at High-A Winston-Salem where he hit .251 with 65 stolen bases in 136 games.
In three minor-league seasons, the Loveland, OH native owns a .266 batting average with 135 steals in 295 games.

Joe Black MVP Award - The Arizona Fall League did not select an MVP during its first 10 seasons. In 2002, the league created the Joe Black Most Valuable Player Award, named after former big league pitcher Joe Black, the 1952 National League rookie of the year.
