Columbus, GA - The Columbus Catfish will be well represented at the 48th Annual South Atlantic League All-Star Game at State Mutual Stadium in Rome, Georgia on June 19, 2007 at 7:30pm. Catfish manager Jim Morrison will join a coaching staff led by Asheville's Joe Mikulik.
Morrison will bring along four Catfish players: catcher Nevin Ashley, outfielders Desmond Jennings and Ryan Royster and Heath Rollins. The foursome has played an important role in Columbus' active chase for the SAL Southern Division first-half crown and a berth in the post-season.
Ashley has batted .286 with six doubles, four triples, five home runs, 27 runs, 27 RBI and eight steals in 53 games. Jennings has batted .280 with six doubles, three triples, three home runs, 34 runs and 23 steals in 50 games. Royster has batted .307 with 12 doubles, 8 home runs, 28 runs, 34 RBI and 7 steals in 50 games. Rollins is 6-0 with a 1.09 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 66.1 innings over 11 starts.
