Carrillo Added to 'Fish Tank

Bridgeport, Conn.- Bridgeport Bluefish team officials today announced the acquisition of pitcher Francisco Carrillo from the Normal CornBelters of the Frontier League for a player to be named later.

"Francisco has put up great numbers this season with his previous team," said Bluefish Manager Luis Rodriguez. "We're very happy to have him and are confident that he will be able to help us out during the remainder of our season."

Francisco Carrillo comes to Bridgeport during his sixth season of professional baseball and first in the Atlantic League. He began the 2016 campaign with Normal of the independent Frontier League, where he made 41 relief appearances and collected three victories with a 1.75 ERA and 77 strikeouts in 56.2 innings of work. The 26-year-old began his professional career in 2012 after being signed by the Chicago Cubs organization as an undrafted free agent. He made his debut with the Rookie-level Cubs of the Dominican Summer League, and spent four seasons within the organization, reaching the High-A level in 2014 and 2015. In 129 career minor league games, Francisco has a 15-18 record with a 2.32 ERA and 264 strikeouts in 232.2 innings of work.
