Carolina Gladiators Move to TRBL
The Carolina Gladiators have announced their move to the Tobacco Road Basketball League (TRBL). The team will play home games at venues in Johnston County, North Carolina and will join other TRBL teams from Cary, Wilmington, and Fayetteville, North Carolina. The Gladiators played last season in the Eastern Basketball Alliance and were based in Fayetteville for the 2010-2011 winter season.
The TRBL is a new independent basketball minor league with teams operating throughout the Carolinas. The TRBL will begin play in April 2012 as a point series and will compete with a larger network of independent minor league teams in a national championship tournament at the conclusion of the Spring season. Details regarding the national tournament and league associations will be announced in the coming weeks.
ScoreTrax.com will provide score broadcasting services for all TRBL games and technology services for all TRBL teams. League operations will be funded through existing sponsorships, and qualified member teams will be charged no league fees.
