Fort Myers Mighty Mussels News Release
JUPITER, Fla. - The Fort Myers Miracle's (27-17) were held to four singles on Tuesday night in a 6-0 loss to the Palm Beach Cardinals (22-22).
RHP Brady Anderson (L, 5-7) pitched well despite his final line showing four earned runs. In a scoreless game in the fourth, he allowed a two-run home run to Chris Chinea that continued to carry out to left field. He put up zeros through to the seventh where he allowed the first two hitters to reach.
RHP Keaton Steele came in to replace Anderson in a 2-0 game before Palm Beach plated four runs with four more consecutive baserunners. Each time, the Cardinals moved everyone over 90 feet, taking the game from 2-0 to 6-0 in a matter of minutes. Andy Young, Luke Dykstra and Thomas Spitz all collected RBI-singles as the Cardinals put it away in the seventh.
Meanwhile, RHP Ramon Santos (W, 3-2) dazzled in just his second start of the year (21 relief appearances). The hard-throwing righty allowed just two hits over seven strong innings, striking out a season high seven.
The Miracle look to salvage a win in the three-game series on Wednesday night with LHP Lewis Thorpe on the mound. He will oppose RHP Connor Jones with first pitch at 6:30 PM ET.
