Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

Waterloo, Iowa-Waterloo Black Hawks defenseman Andrew Panzarella has been selected to the 2010-2011 USHL Eastern Conference All-Star team, the United States Hockey League announced Friday.

"I am very happy for Andrew," said Waterloo Black Hawks Head Coach P.K. O'Handley. "I think it is a great testament to his growth as a player during his time in the USHL. It is an honor for him that the league coaches have taken note of his development."

Panzarella is spending his fourth season as a USHL player and was acquired by the Black Hawks in a trade with the Tri City Storm last February. Named team Captain in October, the Columbia, Maryland native has appeared in 36 games with three goals, 14 assists, and 138 penalty minutes. His 17 points are just five shy of the total he accumulated during his first three seasons. Panzarella made his first league appearance as a member of the Des Moines Buccaneers in 2007-2008 and played there for two seasons. Earlier this winter, Panzarella committed to the University of North Dakota for 2011-2012.

The 2010-2011 USHL All-Stars were select by a vote of league coaches and general managers.
