SOUTH BEND, IN- Victor Estevez's walk-off single in the ninth helped the South Bend Silver Hawks edge the West Michigan Whitecaps, 5-4, on Thursday night at Coveleski Stadium. The Whitecaps held a 4-3 lead in the top of the ninth, but Alfredo Marte tied the game with a solo home run to left, and Estevez eventually won it with his single to center.

Game three of the series saw the lead go back and forth between the two teams. South Bend jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a two-out RBI hit in the third from A.J. Pollock.

The Whitecaps tied the game in the fourth when Joe Bowen laced a single to right to bring home Bryan Pounds.

West Michigan increased their lead to 3-1 in the top of the fifth with Billy Nowlin's RBI single and Jordan Lennerton's hit that brought in a run.
