Madison Capitols News Release

Middleton, WI - The Madison Capitols (16-20-2-2) will play their only home game in the month of February this evening, as they host the Muskegon Lumberjacks (15-17-2-2) at Bob Suter's Capitol Ice Arena, with puck drop set for 7:05 p.m.

The game was moved to Capitol Ice Arena due to a scheduling conflict at the Alliant Energy Center this evening.

Tickets issued for tonight's game that was originally scheduled for the Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Alliant Energy Center will be valid for the game now being played in Middleton.

Fans who are looking to purchase tickets to the game can call the Madison Capitols' Front Office at (608) 257-CAPS (2277). The tickets will be general admission for $10. Tickets can also be purchased at the door at Bob Suter's Capitol Ice Arena. Doors to the arena will open tonight at 6:00 p.m. for the Capitols' game.

There will be Capitols merchandise on sale, a fully stocked concession, and beer sales in the upstairs bar at Bob Suter's Capitol Ice Arena on game night.

The Capitols and Lumberjacks meet for the first time since Oct. 10, a 4-0 Capitols win at the L.C. Walker Arena in Muskegon. Ryan Edquist picked up his first USHL goaltending victory behind a 40-save shutout performance.

Madison is coming off a strong 5-2 victorious performance on Saturday at the Young Arena against the Waterloo Black Hawks. Sam McCormick recorded a hat trick and an assist, while his linemate Ryan Lohin added an additional two goals and two assists as the Capitols' top line picked up nine total points in the victory.

The Capitols and Black Hawks kept busy this week off the ice, swapping goaltenders, with Garrett Metcalf moving on to Waterloo as Drew Hotte (Gwynedd, Pa.) joins the Capitols. The goaltender has an 8-8-0 record this season, including a shutout and a 3.12 goals-against average.

The Lumberjacks enter the matchup tonight at the bottom of the USHL with just 34 points in the standings. They do, however, boast the USHL's leading goal scorer and point producer in Rem Pitlick (26 goals, 19 assists).

On the back end, Joey Daccord has played the lion's share of time in the nets, compiling a 13-14-3 record with a .901 save percentage and 3.03 goals-against average.

The Caps and Jacks will meet five times, including tonight, between now and April 2. They will reconvene in Muskegon on Feb. 19-20 for a two-game weekend series.

Following tonight's tilt, the Capitols play the next nine games away from home before returning for Cross Check Cancer night on Friday, March 11 against Sioux Falls.
