Capitals Suffer Loss In Yuma Series Opener

May 24, 2010 - Golden Baseball League (GBL)
Edmonton Capitals News Release

The Edmonton Capitals could've used an offensive player like Daryl Brinkley Sunday night against the Scorpions. Unfortunately, the recently retired Minor League great and former Capital was managing in the other dugout as the Scorpions handed it to the Caps 10 - 1 to open a 3 game series in the desert. Alex Prieto had the big night at the plate for the Scorpions. He was 3 for 4 at the plate with a couple of singles and a double. Timothy Rodriguez had three RBI for Tucson.

B.C. native Matt Rogelstad extended his hitting streak to four games by going 2 for 3 at the plate and he scored the only Capitals run.

Edmonton is now 1 - 4 on the season and will try to bounce back on Monday. Alexander Francisco will get his second start of the season for the Caps.

The Edmonton Capitals are Edmonton's first choice for professional baseball and family entertainment. Capitals season seats start at under $9 per game and individual game tickets are available for just $10 every game. The Caps Home Opener is scheduled for Tuesday, June 1 at TELUS Field. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster locations, the TELUS Field Box Office during regular business hours, at (780) 414-GOAL (4625) or online at capsbaseball.ca.
