Capitals Recall Karl Alzner And Kyle Wilson From Hershey

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have recalled defenseman Karl Alzner and center Kyle Wilson from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL) and assigned center Mathieu Perreault to Hershey, vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.
Alzner, 21, is a second-year pro who stands 6'3", 206 pounds and has recorded two assists in five games with the Capitals this season. The Burnaby, British Columbia, native has played 21 games for Hershey this season and has one goal, three assists and only six penalty minutes. His +13 rating is tied for seventh in the AHL. Alzner was Washington's first-round selection, fifth overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
Wilson, who will turn 25 tomorrow, is a fourth-year pro poised to make his NHL debut. The 6'1", 201-pound native of Oakville, Ontario, recorded at least 25 goals in each of his first three AHL seasons and ranks tied for fourth on the Bears this season with 18 points (nine goals, nine assists) in 28 games. Wilson played four years of college hockey at Colgate and originally signed with Washington as a free agent on July 5, 2007.
Perreault, 21, made his NHL debut this season and has played 18 games with the Capitals, recording two goals and five assists. The Drummondville, Quebec, native has played in 11 games for Hershey this year and has one goal and six assists, which was tied for fourth on the team in scoring at the time of his Nov. 3 recall.
