Canucks Recall Cody Hodgson & Victor Oreskovich

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced today they have recalled forwards Cody Hodgson and Victor Oreskovich.

Hodgson, 21, has appeared in 52 games with the Moose this season. The native of Markham, ON has scored 30 points (17g, 13a) in that time and collected 14 penalty minutes. Hodgson was recalled by the Canucks earlier this season on Jan. 30/11, after which he scored his first NHL goal on Feb. 2/11 vs. Phoenix. He's played in eight games with the Canucks this season recording one goal and one assist with no penalty minutes.

Prior to this season, Hodgson had previously played in 11 AHL Calder Cup playoff games with the Moose in 2009 where he scored six points (4g, 2a). Hodgson won a Gold Medal with Team Canada at the 2009 IIHF Under-20 World Championships. He was originally drafted by Vancouver in the first round, 10th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Oreskovich, 24, has appeared in 40 games for the Moose this season recording 12 points (4g, 8a) and 38 penalty minutes. The Whitby, ON native has played in 16 games with the Canucks this season recording three assists and eight penalty minutes. In his career, Oreskovich has played 66 NHL games with Vancouver and Florida in which he's recorded nine points (2g, 7a) and 34 penalty minutes. He has played in 74 career AHL games with Rochester and Manitoba with a total of 27 points (10g, 17a) and 56 penalty minutes.

Oreskovich was originally drafted by Colorado in the second round, 55th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
