Canucks Re-Assign Andersson to Moose & Recall Volpatti

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, today announced they have re-assigned forward Jonas Andersson to the Moose. The Canucks also announced they have recalled forward Aaron Volpatti from the Moose.

Andersson, 29, appeared in three games with the Canucks after being recalled from the Moose on Dec. 8/10. Andersson was obtained by the Vancouver Canucks along with defenceman Ryan Parent on Oct. 5/10 from the Nashville Predators in exchange for defenceman Shane O'Brien and right winger Dan Gendur. Prior to being recalled, Andersson appeared in 12 games with the Moose where he recorded 6 points (3g, 3a) and 12 penalty minutes. The Stockholm, SWE native has now played in eight career NHL games with Nashville and Vancouver. He has recorded zero points and two penalty minutes in the NHL. In 186 career AHL games with Milwaukee and Manitoba, Andersson has 61 points (30g, 31a) and 87 penalty minutes. Andersson was originally drafted by Nashville in the second round, 33rd overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.

Volpatti, 29, has played in 25 games with the Moose this season scoring six points (0g, 6a) and 44 penalty minutes. The native of Revelstoke, B.C. previously played four seasons at Brown University, then played eight regular season games and five playoff games with the Moose after joining the team at the end of the NCAA schedule on Mar. 26/10. Volpatti served as team captain of the Bears in his senior season at Brown University.
